Vacation in Parry Sound

One of the great things about the province of Ontario is the combination of economic and recreational opportunities that the terrain and settlement of the province has brought about. Most people are aware of the fact that this is the economic heartland of the country; the economies of Toronto and Ottawa seem to never experience a downturn, and that means there are always plenty of jobs. You can stay in your Etobicoke real estate and find work within the city, if that's your choice. The economic opportunities mean large populations and huge cities, and yet not too far away there are pristine locations ideal for any vacation.

The Great Lakes regions, in particular, are ideal for those looking to get away from the hectic lifestyle of the city. If the thought that you could buy a Toronto condo is not appealing to you, maybe moving to this region will be. When most people are asked what their favourite things to do in Ontario are, it's likely that taking a trip to one of the Great Lakes is right up there on the list. Lake Huron is especially well noted for its scenery and vacation opportunities. The town of Parry Sound, for example, only has a year round population of 5,000. During the summer months, this community in the heart of cottage country burgeons by an incredible 70,000 residents!

The reason why Parry Sound is so popular is that it is located right on the east end of Georgian Bay. Sailing, fishing, swimming, and other forms of aquatic recreation are all popular pastimes here during the summer months, and Parry Sound is the ideal location for a base camp. Many Ontario residents have cottages and cabins around the town and throughout the surrounding area, from which they launch their exploration of the 30,000 Islands or just take some time out from the busy year to read on the shores of one of Canada's most unique landmarks. Or, if you're looking for a more permanent home, you could get a hold of some thermal insulation materials and winterize one of the cottages on the water.

Parry Sound is one of Ontario's favourite vacation spots. It is close enough to the cities to be easily accessible and yet it is certainly a world apart. There are plenty of opportunities here worth exploring!
